Who we are

We are a grassroots group of like-minded friends and education advocates passionate about early childhood development. Working closely with local communities, we focus on empowering young children from low-income families attending Anganwadi Kendras by providing them with the learning materials, books, and nurturing environments they need to thrive during their crucial formative years.

Our work and its impact

We partner directly with Anganwadi Workers across local centres to drive Early Childhood Development and Emergent Literacy at the grassroots level. Rather than viewing Anganwadis solely as nutrition centres, our initiative aims to transform them into vibrant early learning environments. We source, curate, and distribute high-quality Emergent and New Reader books—featuring rich visuals, simple text, and local context—to help children aged 3–6 develop foundational pre-reading and language skills.

By working closely with Anganwadi frontline workers, we ensure that the books are actively integrated into daily story circles, interactive play, and guided reading sessions. This approach encourages children to develop a love for books and reading while strengthening their early learning and language skills.

How we will utilise these books

To ensure that the books actively foster early literature rather than remain packed away on shelves, they will be integrated into daily routines and structured engagement at every Anganwadi Kendra through a four-part model:

1. Daily Interactive Storytelling & Read-Aloud Sessions

2. Dedicated "Reading & Discovery Corners"

3. Peer Learning & Group Activity Hours

4. Rotational Book Exchange Among Centers
