Who we are
Government Public School, Gandhinagar at Pattigadda, a low income community in Hyderabad which exhibits lack of amenities for the learning and development of children. These children are mostly the first generation learners and the major challenge they experience in the school is the unavailability of learning material. Also, I as a teacher find it difficult to disseminate the right knowledge in the absence of reading material that is BOOKS. I appeal to all like-minded people to help teachers like me to raise funds.
Our work and its impact
We are a 10 year old org working on eliminating education inequity by serving children from the most under resourced schools in the marginalized communities, by placing highly driven and passionate Fellows who serve as full time teachers in these schools. We are currently impacting more than 38000 students in 340 schools from 7 cities. More than 70% of our Fellows decide to remain the field of education to serve the larger purpose. As of today our Alumni # stands at 2500 who are advancing the cause of education by taking up leadership positions in Govt, infrastructure, policy making, community service etc.
How we will utilise these books
In addition to direct impact on our children, Teach For India’s long-term theory is to develop leaders who will continue fighting towards educational equity. The impact of the Fellowship on developing Fellows is measured through their growth on the three commitments of Personal Transformation, Collective Action, and the Commitment to Educational Equity. This year, 1250 Fellows are directly transforming the lives of 38,000 children. Our mission is to mobilize and inspire a wider movement of leaders that will lead to the same transformation for all children in the country.
