Who we are
Sonadara Gurukulam, a residential school works towards value based education along with literacy to the children of sugarcane laborers in the remote area of Beed district. The students are very curious and keen to learn. Unfortunately we lack good library resources which acts like a treasure for a curious mind. Help us to build this 'storehouse of knowledge' for our children.
Our work and its impact
In 1986, a group of people started working towards the education of children of sugarcane laborers in rural part of Beed district. Mr. Sudam and Mrs. Sindhu Bhondave dedicated their lives to the work of Sondara Gurukulam. The school started with 23 students, 4 huts on 7 acres land and the determination of the people to provide education to the deprived one. Taking the inspiration from Sondara 5 more residential schools was started at Beed. Today the school consist of 250 kids from 5th to 10th grades.
How we will utilise these books
Our aim is to strengthen the ability of an individual to meet the needs and demand of society and help in dealing with the various issues of today's world. The school has created a future generation of hundred of students from 200 small villages of 15 different districts. The funds will be utilized to add up good library resources so that the students will get an opportunity to explore more, learn more and enjoy!
