Know more about us

Who we are

We are a class of 51 enthusiastic 4th graders studying in a Government school in Pune. We require books for our happy room project; we wish to read more books and in our preferred language and at our reading level. If you believe, you're what you're because of the kind of education you got and you believe all kids deserve to get an excellent education, then go ahead and help us. and, you never know which book might inspire the next Mandela, Jobs or Mother Teresa? :)

Our work and its impact

I am Ankit. I am teaching 51 4th graders with great potential in a government school of Pune city. I am in my first year of Teach for India's fellowship. The Teach For India Fellowship program is a 2 year full-time paid commitment in which promising graduates and professionals are placed, as full-time teachers, in under-resourced and low-income schools.

How we will utilise these books

We, 51 children, have the responsibility to learn, as we'd contribute (in small drops) in shaping the future of India. Therefore, we are trying to equip ourselves with skills which may help in creating a safe and happy environment for us and anybody we touch in general. We are planning to set up a happy room for ourselves and the children around us where we would get some opportunities to explore and find our light through extracurricular activities. And, any such room is incomplete by books (and more books). :)
