How we will utilise these books

Nalanda Academy works on the principles of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar’s philosophy to empower our next generation through education. This academy is completely supported by the community of dedicated Ambedkarites from across India and is run in a Buddha Vihar in Wardha, Maharashtra. Nalanda Academy does not charge any fees, and also provides small scholarships to deserving students to sustain their stay in Wardha. Since last five years, the Nalanda Academy has been successful in sending 250+ Dalit-Adivasi- Bahujan students to higher education institutions from mostly rural and non-English medium backgrounds. Art-science educator Abhiyan Humane believed that for any social change to happen in the country, we need to develop scientific temper among our children. In his memory and to further his dream of providing equal opportunities to children from rural and marginalised communities, the Abhiyan Library Campaign has been instituted by Nalanda Academy. As part of the Abhiyan Library Campaign, we aim to set up at least 50 community libraries in rural areas, in Buddha Vihars and common spaces across India. The library will be a place where students can congregate, have access to story books and textbooks, and a reading space they can call their own.
