Who we are
The Techi Jully and Ratu Foundation is an NGO based in Arunachal Pradesh, dedicated to serving the marginalized women and children of remote tribal communities. Our mission revolves around ensuring that every child attending Government Schools across Arunachal has access to enriching resources that broaden their horizons beyond the confines of their classrooms and textbooks. We firmly believe that storybooks serve as invaluable tools for fostering exploration and discovery among young minds. However, the accessibility and affordability of high-quality books remain significant challenges for many families in these regions. Driven by our commitment to fostering a secure and inclusive environment, TJ&R Foundation places a strong emphasis on empowering tribal women and children in Arunachal Pradesh. We prioritize initiatives such as children's education, advocating for the importance of mental, physical, and emotional well-being, and promoting women's empowerment. Through these concerted efforts, we endeavor to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of marginalized populations across our region.
Our work and its impact
At TJ&R Foundation, our primary focus is on supporting government schools situated in remote tribal communities across Arunachal Pradesh. These schools often grapple with severe resource shortages, and establishing functional libraries is a daunting challenge due to financial constraints. We collaborate closely with school principals and teachers to identify institutions in need and provide assistance in procuring books for their libraries. By ensuring that each school has a well-stocked library, we empower students to access educational resources that are otherwise inaccessible to them. This initiative not only fosters a love for reading and learning but also cultivates critical thinking skills and broadens horizons. Ultimately, our efforts contribute to bridging the educational gap and promoting literacy among children in these underserved communities. By providing equal access to knowledge and opportunities, we strive to empower the next generation and catalyze positive societal change.
How we will utilise these books
The joyful books from Pratham Books will be instrumental in establishing fully functional libraries within each school we support. These libraries will serve as vibrant hubs of learning, offering students a diverse range of literature to explore and engage with. Through regular access to these resources, students will have the opportunity to enhance their literacy skills, broaden their knowledge, and develop a lifelong love for reading.
