Who we are
Swa Surajya Foundation is a charitable organization committed to empowering marginalized communities, particularly the Potraj nomadic tribe. The foundation leverages education as a transformative tool, breaking barriers to formal learning by providing children with foundational education and life skills.
Our work and its impact
Working with the Potraj Community: The Potraj community faces significant educational challenges due to their nomadic lifestyle. To address these issues, the foundation operates three Community Learning Centers (CLCs) and collaborates with three schools to reintegrate children into formal education.
After-School Program:
- --Offers three-hour sessions covering language, mathematics, science, life skills, and arts.
- --Prepares children to transition smoothly into schools.
Community Engagement:
- --Involves parents in promoting education and shared responsibility.
- --Enhanced literacy, numeracy, and life skills.
- --Successfully reintegrated children into schools.
- --Fostered hope and self-reliance in families.
With a vision to expand its impact, Swa Surajya Foundation aims to create sustainable change through education and collaboration, ensuring every child has the opportunity to succeed.
How we will utilise these books
Resource Libraries at CLCs: Each of the three Community Learning Centers will be equipped with a mini-library, offering children regular access to books. These libraries will serve as safe spaces for self-paced learning, group activities, and fostering a lifelong love for knowledge.
Community Engagement: Books will also be utilized to engage parents and community members, creating an environment where education is valued and actively supported.
By providing access to diverse and high-quality books from Pratham Books, we aim to transform the learning experience for the Potraj children. The books will equip them with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in school and beyond. Every book donated will contribute to shaping brighter futures for these young learners
