Who we are
We, SVACKSHEE / स्वाक्षी (Society for Voluntary Action with Community-based Knowledge for Sustainable Health, Education and Empowerment) Sansthan registered in March 2010 under the Societies Registration Act 1958 of Rajasthan as a non-profit organization. Through research, our team found out children's learning outcomes in Alwar District required major interventions. Additionally, the dropout rate of girls in primary and upper primary levels is very high. Discussions with parents and community members indicate that a family's resource allocation towards girl-education often takes a back-seat and remains marginalized.
We started with 8 children in July 2010 in our first experimental primary school. Since then, this experimental school has been upgraded into Resource Pre-school under the EHSAS Project launched in 2017.
Our work and its impact
Svackshee now adopts Government-run anganwadis and schools. We work towards the improvement of educational standards in schools through multiple interventions. We are currently active in 22 Anganwadis, one primary and one secondary school.
How we will utilise these books
The books will be utilized to set up a mobile library that will travel among the target villages on specific times and dates. In addition to giving books to children to read, activities will be conducted which will keep children associated with learning and reading as they are away from schools for the last 7 months.
