Who we are
Sustainable Rural and Urban Development Society (SRUDS), is a non-governmental organisation formed in 2001-02 to practise sustainable agriculture and promote education in slums and backward communities. Presently, we are active in Chitradurga, Chikkamagaluru, and Kolar Districts of Karnataka State. Our mission is to bring about sustainable development by addressing the educational needs of underserved communities.
Our work and its impact
At SRUDS, we are dedicated to establishing permanent solutions for rural community children through storybooks. We believe that access to quality education is crucial for empowering individuals and communities. By providing children with engaging storybooks, we aim to enhance their general knowledge and English communication abilities, thereby equipping them with essential skills for success in school and beyond. Our efforts contribute to breaking the cycle of poverty by providing educational opportunities to those who need them the most.
How we will utilise these books
The storybooks from Pratham Books will be utilised for the children of H.D.Pura Government Primary School in Holalkere Taluk. They will be distributed among the students to take home and read at their leisure. These captivating stories will not only foster a love for reading but also help improve their general knowledge and English communication skills. By targeting students from 1st to 7th standard, we aim to reach a wide range of children and make a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
