Who we are
Sphoorti Foundation is a non-profit organization based in Hyderabad, India, dedicated to transforming the lives of underprivileged children through long-term care, education, and empowerment. Sphoorti takes a holistic approach to child development, extending beyond basic charity.
Our work and its impact
Our work focuses on providing safe shelter and nurturing homes for children in need, ensuring they have the opportunity to grow into confident and independent individuals. We provide safe shelter and nurturing homes where children feel secure and cared for.
Through our residential school and support programs, we ensure access to quality education that builds a strong foundation for the future of the children.
We also prioritise healthcare, nutrition, and emotional well-being, recognising that a child’s development goes beyond academics. In addition, we equip children with essential life skills, values, and career guidance, enabling them to lead self-reliant and meaningful lives. Through this integrated approach, we aim to create lasting impact by breaking cycles of vulnerability and empowering children to build better futures for themselves and their communities.
How we will utilise these books
The storybooks collected through this fundraiser will be used to create and strengthen libraries in rural Government Primary Schools in Guntur District, following the “Library in a Classroom” model by Pratham Books.
Books curated based on children’s reading levels rather than their grade will ensure that each child can access material suited to their ability. These books will be organised for easy access and will be used regularly during dedicated reading time, as well as for guided reading and storytelling sessions facilitated by teachers.
This approach ensures that every child is able to find books they can understand, engage with, and enjoy, while also building consistent reading habits and confidence over time.
