Who we are

Singrauli(small district in M.P) is popularly known as "Kaala Paani" and "Energy Capital of India”.Having made a huge progress in the last 10 years, it still needs to go a long way in terms of its literacy. The motive of this campaign is not just to provide a place for students, elders, parents and communities to come together and read at one place but give hope to students like Rishika, a class 7th student who wishes to read beyond her school books. We wish to give her and many others like her a set of FRIENDS whom they can cherish always.

Our work and its impact

We are Team YUVA (Yuva United for Value Addition) who have a common aim of "Loving to live for others" and have come together to provide a helping hand to the District administration of Singrauli on their initiatives. We are regular office goers who have pledged to volunteer our spare time for the benefit of the society. We have successfully taken ownership of many initiatives in the district and led them to completion like initiating a campaign for blood donation and forming a group of regular donors while motivating new people.

How we will utilise these books

In a time when majority of the people leave their home towns in search of better opportunities, we are those few who stayed back and decided to work towards betterment of our District. Having been born and brought up here, we understand the challenges of the people living here and hence plan our activities around that. Every year we conduct Blanket donation drive in winters to help the needy people and distribute them in the remotest of the places. We now wish to work towards improving the Education outcomes in the district. One of the steps in this direction is to set up a community library for all age groups here. This will provide a platform for school, college going students to access themes beyond their curriculum. In addition, we see it as a place where age group, language and economic conditions will not be barrier. The Funds will mainly be used for buying books in the 3 major languages( Hindi, English and Urdu). A part of the fund will also be utilized for proper infrastructure for the library.
