Who we are
Sharada Educational Trust, based in Bangalore, is a registered Public Charitable Trust dedicated to empowering lives through education. It focuses on providing quality education, particularly to underserved communities, with a mission to create sustainable opportunities for growth and development.
The Trust is involved in various initiatives, including educational programs for rural government school students and teachers, such as financial literacy workshops, spoken English courses, and mentorship programs. It also engages in environmental awareness efforts like the School Sapling Program and supports digital learning through initiatives like Project JnanaShala, which includes setting up digital libraries in rural areas.
Operating out of Bengaluru, Karnataka, Sharada Educational Trust collaborates with partners to extend its reach, emphasizing practical and accessible education solutions for rural and underprivileged populations.
Our work and its impact
Our core objective is to serve as a "Knowledge Partner" and transform lives by delivering universal quality education.
Our Programs:

- Online Spoken English courses for teachers and students from rural government schools
- MargaDarshak (Mentorship) Program for government school teachers and underprivileged college students
- Sulabh App, offering courses on Spoken English, Financial Literacy, Soft Skills, and Values &
- Character for government school teachers and students
- Impacted 150+ government school teachers and 500+ students across 70 government schools in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana

- Financial Literacy workshops through storytelling, drama competitions, and quizzes for rural government school students
- Library setups in rural community centers and government schools
- Workshops on Personal Hygiene, Safe and Unsafe Touch, Menstrual Hygiene, and the harmful effects of Smoking, Drugs, and Alcohol
- Impacted 1,700+ rural government school students across four districts in Karnataka and two districts in Maharashtra
How we will utilise these books
With the funds raised through this campaign, Pratham Books will be distributed to rural government schools, where they will serve as valuable resources for students.
These books will be used in multiple ways:

- Independent Reading: Pratham Books are available in multiple languages and reading levels, allowing children to choose stories that match their interests and abilities.
- Shared Reading: In classroom or community library settings, students will engage in group reading sessions to enhance comprehension.
- Group Activities: Activities like storytelling sessions or discussions led by educators or community volunteers.
- Building Confidence and Curiosity: These books will help the children gauge their fluency and grow confident in their reading abilities since its designed to be engaging and non-judgmental.
