Know more about us
Who we are
Sadaya Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to enhancing elementary education in rural communities in Vidarbha. The organisation focuses on bridging the language gap, improving school infrastructure, sensitising the community, and striving to bring equitable, joyful, and meaningful learning experiences to childhood.
Our work and its impact
The Sadaya Foundation operates Community Learning Centers (CLCs) both before and after school hours. Our primary focus is on bridging the language gap within the Korku Community, facilitating a transition from Korku to Marathi by teaching in the native language at our centres. This approach fosters a more understandable, meaningful, and joyful learning experience for children. The Sadaya Foundation employs various activities, including action songs, prayers, picture reading, storytelling, craftwork, and exposure to the surrounding environment. Additionally, the Sadaya Foundation is committed to renovating schools, providing safe and secure learning environments for children. We also actively engage in spreading awareness and knowledge about education within the Korku community. The impact of our efforts is evident in the increased enthusiasm for learning among children, bringing a positive energy to our centres. Children are now learning Marathi with joy and understanding, incorporating words and sentences learned in the centres into their daily interactions at both the centres and schools. Parents and community members actively participate in school renovations, showcasing a collaborative effort. The community expresses a desire to witness positive changes in their village with the support of the Sadaya Foundation.
How we will utilise these books
The storybooks from Pratham Books will be used in the community learning centre in various ways:
- The books will be part of the library, reading programs, and other activities as well.
- Reading a book by a fellow educator daily in the centre.
- Peer reading sessions in the centre and schools.
- Useful for storytelling sessions and picture reading.
- Flourish ideas for the creation of bilingual books.
