Who we are
Avaniti Education and Training Foundation knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Avaniti, a not-for-profit organization (registered under the Companies Act, 2013) established in 2018, believes that early childhood education is one of the key components that need more focused attention for the overall development of a child and better performance in later stages of education. The organization works with the government early education system towards bringing quality early learning for children, especially those coming from the disadvantaged section and tribal community
Our work and its impact
Our work includes collaboration with children, teachers, parents, and other stakeholders at various levels to develop and promote a quality learning environment for children in their early age groups (3 to 8 years). Avaniti works on developing sustainable teaching-learning materials that are specific to learner's context and culture (especially to the tribal culture and knowledge). Avaniti offers courses on various issues of early childhood education for teachers, supervisors, and other stakeholders working in the domain of early childhood education. The organization also works on developing and promoting researches and case-studies relevant to early childhood education. Avaniti's work for and with the tribal and underprivileged community is intended towards creating favorable learning opportunities and giving voice to language, culture, and knowledge of the tribal communities.
How we will utilise these books
The books will reach 800 children of different age-group who are from Gond and Kamar (Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group) community. Children are from 10 villages of Dhamtari district which are particularly vulnerable due to poverty, lack of basic facilities, and no access to smartphones or internet facilities. Some villages do not have any kind of pre-school or Anganwadis where Early Childhood Education begins. These books will help to fill the gap of reading which has been created due to lack of school and lockdown due to pandemic. Moreover, the children will be readings wonderful and interesting storybooks which they have hardly seen before.
