Who we are
We are class of 80 thirteen year old studying in Chennai Boys' Higher Secondary School, Saidapet, Chennai. We require books for our classroom library for we wish to read more books in English and at our reading level. It will help us to be better at both academics and extra-curricular activities.
Our work and its impact
We are fellows with Teach for India (non-governmental organization, non-profit), teaching grade 9 students in Government Higher Secondary School, Saidapet, Chennai.
How we will utilise these books
We teach Science and Social to 80 grade 9 students. We see kids struggle daily not able to read and comprehend their texts as their reading levels are not at grade levels. We also work closely with the community to invest the parents and other stakeholders of the community in the growth and learning of the children. We are planning to set up a library in our classrooms to build the culture of reading.
