Who we are
Bangalore-based Vonisha Service Foundation is partnering with Casa Foundation to help marginalised communities in Bangalore – focused on helping children and young women. Vonisha Service Foundation was set up in 2017 to help underprivileged people in the slums of South Bangalore. We are pooling our resources with Casa Foundation to make a bigger impact through education, skill-based training and social entrepreneurship.
Our work and its impact
Vonisha Foundation and its partner DIN together run a primary school where bridge classes for out-of-school children are conducted. The St. Ignatius School was set up during the Covid-19 pandemic and it’s a safe environment for children to learn and grow. We also organise training programmes in villages in Begur, Karnataka for students to become self-sufficient.
How we will utilise these books
The funds received from this campaign will help set up a library at St. Ignatius School for the children. We want our school to be a safe place for them to learn, play and enjoy fun storytelling sessions. We need storybooks in Hindi, Kannada and English to help the children become multilingual and become fluent readers in English as well as their mother tongue languages. The various themes explored in Pratham Books' storybooks will kindle their curiosity and set them on the path to becoming lifelong readers.
