About StoryWeaver
StoryWeaver is an open-source digital platform of multilingual children’s storybooks from Pratham Books. StoryWeaver has over 20,000 storybooks in more than 250 languages and contains easy-to-use tools to read online and offline, create, translate, publish, download, print books – all for free. All the books on the platform are available under the CC B 4.0 Creative Commons license that allows use, reuse, and remixing of the content.
About Pratham Books
Pratham Books is a not-for-profit children’s book publisher founded in 2004 with the mission to see ‘a book in every child's hand’. Its key objective is to publish good quality, affordable storybooks in multiple languages to support reading acquisition among children.
Our work and its impact
StoryWeaver has more than 20,000 freely accessible storybooks in over 250 languages. Educators, parents, and storytellers around the world have welcomed StoryWeaver’s content into their reading routine, and into the hearts of their children. These books have been read more than 5 million times.
Across the globe, more than 1 billion children are at home due to school closures, in an effort to control the COVID-19 outbreak. The need for high-quality, open digital reading resources is more urgent than ever. As part of our ‘Learn At Home’ initiative to keep children reading, thinking, and learning even when they are away from school, StoryWeaver is creating and curating multilingual reading resources.
We are raising funds to develop 50 Readalong (audio-visual) books in Telugu that will be available for free on StoryWeaver.
StoryWeaver Readalongs: Delightful storybooks to listen to as you read
The Readalongs are audio-visual storybooks that early readers can listen to as they learn to read. These books have subtitles that mirror the audio narration of the story and are a great way to keep children engaged and build language acquisition skills. The Readalongs are currently available in English, Hindi, Marathi and Kannada, and children have spent over 10,000 hours reading along! They are also available as videos on StoryWeaver’s YouTube channels and have been viewed more than 4 million times.

Your contribution will help us create Readalongs in Telugu
The funds raised through this campaign will be used to develop 50 high-quality Telugu Readalong titles, which will be free to access on www.storyweaver.org.in and on YouTube.
