Who we are
Samarthanam Inclusive School has about 300 children with varying disabilities including Intellectually disabled and the physically handicapped. Samarthanam recently finished construction of it accessible barrier free residential school building with about 14 classrooms and a library for all its beneficiaries which includes not just the children but also the disabled and /or unoderprivileged youth and adults. We are working intensively to create a book friendly environment inspite of our focus on leveraging technology for the assistance of the disabled . We believe 'A BOOK IN HAND IS A FRIEND IN EVERY LAND'.
Our work and its impact
Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled is a non profit organisation with 7 simple and strategic verticals all working towards the welfare of the disabled and the underprivileged in the society.
How we will utilise these books
We are a trust that creates an environment of inclusivity through education, and accessible infrastructure, creating livelihood opportunities through skill development, providing opportunities to perform through sports and art and culture, contributing towards the up gradation of environment and also providing nutrition to children with the aim of arresting and preventing disabilities. The funds will be utilized for the purchase of books for our mobile library which makes books accessible for the disabled and the underprivileged in the remote rural areas.
