We are raising these funds for
My name is Nitesh Verma and I’m a resident of Kabriyawas village in the Sikar district of Rajasthan. I recently completed my graduation in Physics (Hons) from Delhi University and am currently pursuing my master’s degree in the same field.
I discovered Pratham Books online and was inspired by the organisation’s commitment to promoting literacy and education. There is an abandoned building in my village that once used to be a government primary school. I believe this building, when renovated, could be transformed into a library space for children. It is centrally located which makes it easily accessible for the entire community.
Many children in our village either roam aimlessly after school or engage in fieldwork. With a library, we can provide them with an encouraging environment to study and utilise their after-school time productively. When I shared the idea of a library with them, their faces lit up with joy and happiness.
I am determined to bring the gift of knowledge and reading to my community by setting up a library for them. However, I can’t do it alone and I need your help and support.
With the funds raised from this campaign, we will be able to fill this empty space with colourful Hindi and English storybooks from Pratham Books for the kids. Through these storybooks, they will explore the world of STEM, go on adventures and solve mysteries. I will set up a system through which they can borrow the books for a specified period of time and return them to the library. My aim is to ensure that every child has access to these wonderful books and the world of reading.
