Who we are
We are a set of 3 classes from 1st to 3rd grade consisting of around 160 kids in all, studying in a Government School in Ahmedabad. Our children are catching up fast and we need books to cater to their academic needs. We are teaching in English as medium and we believe that with the correct guide and resources our kids can take off and be their own leader. Help us achieve this dream. Help my kids to read!
Our work and its impact
I am Pousali Poddar. I am an Electrical Engineer. I used to work in Tata Motors. I have joined Teach for India this year and I have been assigned to teach 27 wonderful kids from 2nd grade in a Government School in Shahpur, Ahmedabad. I believe that I can my capabilities will come in great use in this field and I face challenges everyday in my classroom, which is great!
How we will utilise these books
Teach for India's sole belief is that it is possible to give each and every child an excellent education. And I feel connected to this belief as well. Yes it is possible, with the right guidance and resources. We in Teach for India strive every day to make this belief a reality in our classrooms and the outcomes raises our hope everyday. Education along with values will help this children there dreams and one day they will become an asset to the society. My funds will solely be utilized to buy books of different kinds. I want these books to be based on stories of inspiration, values, and critical thinking. Also, academics that help them visualize everything that they learn.
