How we will utilise these books

I teach grade 4 in Channasandra Govt School,Bangalore. Learning has been the rote method for most schools , which ultimately makes them ill equipped for jobs, in the future as they dont have the knowledge or skill to implement their learnings. Our focus when in teaching is a holistic one where in we not just guide them in content but also bring out a leader in them. We also prioritize on stakeholders like parent, teachers,community involvement in the kids education as we believe each of these stakeholders have a major impact on the kid's education. We strive for positive relationships with each of the above stake holders and get them invested. In the second year fellowship , as part of the Be The Change Project, we push the impact from classrooms/school to community and beyond. As fellows of teach for india, we aim to set up a library in classrooms.Even though our school houses the Public library, there aren any visitors at any given point of the day. Through these books, we aim to build a movement of thoughtful readers who will spread the importance of reading not just in school but also in their community. So through the funds raised, we aim to orgainise/build a public library that will be relevant for the community.
