My name is Ajit Bhoje, and I am a government school teacher at the Morarji Desai Residential School, Pattankudi, located in Chikkodi. Our school serves students from Classes 6 to 10. Nearly 70% of our students belong to tribal communities, and most come from economically disadvantaged Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe families.

Access to quality reading material at our school remains limited. To address this need, we have refurbished our school library in line with present-day requirements, with a focus on the holistic development of students. We also have a dedicated timetable for library reading, which we actively follow. However, our existing library resources are insufficient to meet the growing needs of our students.

To ensure our students can fully benefit from the library, I aim to procure engaging and age-appropriate children’s storybooks from Pratham Books to strengthen our library. This will ensure that students from underserved communities have access to quality literature.
