Who we are
We are the 25 Little Readers of Class 2, studying in a Government school in Chennai. We have just started to read and speak in English and we need books for our classroom library for we wish to read more and develop our language skills. Help us become readers for life.
Our work and its impact
Teach For India (TFI) is an Indian non-profit organisation, which is a part of the Teach For All global movement, with a vision that 'one day ALL children will attain EXCELLENT education". Fellows of TFI work to bridge the educational gaps that their students face, in the hopes of putting their students on a fundamentally different life path. Teach For India is currently in seven cities, impacting 38,000 children through 1100 Fellows, 200 staff members and 1050 alumni.
How we will utilise these books
I am currently a fellow of Teach For India working in a corporation school in Washermanpet, North Chennai, guiding 25 Grade 2 students in their academic growth as well as holistic development. I also work with parents and other stakeholders of the community for the overall growth of the kids. I aim to set up a library in my classroom of 25 kids. The funds raised will be completely utilized for helping the kids develop their language skills.
