Know more about us

Who we are

Links Charitable Trust is committed to ensuring access to quality education and healthcare for at-risk children. Our mission encompasses providing education to children with gaps in their formal schooling and advocating for and funding life-saving surgeries for children.

To achieve this, Links operates an education centre in the Munnekollal area of Bangalore, currently serving 61 children. These children have had no formal or informal education prior to attending the Links centre. Through collaboration with Vidya NGO, we can educate them under the Open Basic Education curriculum.

Our work and its impact

The work of Links Charitable Trust significantly impacts society by addressing the educational and healthcare needs of underprivileged children in Bengaluru. Focusing on providing education to children who miss out on formal schooling and funding life-saving surgeries for those in need helps reduce inequalities in these crucial areas. By targeting vulnerable groups, such as children from migrant families, the organisation plays a vital role in creating a more equitable society where every child has a chance to thrive and succeed. This contributes to long-term societal benefits such as improved health outcomes and higher educational attainment among disadvantaged communities.

How we will utilise these books

We currently have 61 children attending our Links Education Center, who have not received any education before and are grade levels behind their age. They are studying the OBE curriculum, ranging from grade 1 to grade 5. Starting this year, they will be writing formal exams for the first time in their lives and will receive certificates as they pass different levels defined by the OBE system.

It is crucial that their reading skills continuously improve to reach the necessary level for them to excel. The teachers and volunteers will use the storybooks from Pratham Books to conduct reading camps, aiding in the development of essential reading skills for these children.
