Who we are
The Lighthouse Library, Khantapara is a non-profit based reading centre founded by 1994 High school batch alumni, committed to empowering communities. It is dedicated to nurturing love for reading among the local communities, thereby contributing to the empowerment and leverages education as a transformative tool.
Imagine a space where every child has access to the tools they need to succeed—a library filled with books, and resources dedicated to empowering our youth. This library would not just be a collection of books, it would be a ray of hope, a step towards breaking the cycle of poverty, and a place where futures are shaped. In my area, there are talented students who dreamed and aspire to become an IAS. But their dreams fade due to the lack of limited resources. But these dreams are often hindered by a lack of access to proper books, study materials, and a quiet place to learn.
Our work and its impact
Through The Lighthouse Library, we are opening the platform of reading. We provide books beyond the school curriculum, such as story books, comics, science-based literature, competitive exam preparation books, career aspirational cultural books for all states of India and the world, motivational speakers, life and success story of entrepreneurs, art, painting and books on health, yoga, and other health initiatives.
By providing access to the platform, we nurture the learning environment. Our goal is to be the better version of every individual.

--Target group from Class 1 to 12th grade students and graduates.
--Crack competitive exams in the State and National level.
--Aspiring youth and young students who wanted to crack competitive exams like JEE/NIT/IIT/OAS/IES/IPS/IAS.
How we will utilise these books
Through the funds raised, joyful story books from Pratham Books will be procured which will help serve as tools for reading and empowering in the following ways:

--Organize guided reading activities to enhance reading skills, building vocabularies, and critical thinking.
--Conducting workshops to motivate reading and encourage intellectual growth.
--Supporting students in developing essential problem-solving and analytical skills.
--Enhance opportunities for children to be more economically independence after achieving their goal in life.
