Who we are
We are setting up libraries in 10 Zilla Parished Schools in rural Maharashtra. Selected most of the schools are located in Marathwada region, which is less developed region in Maharashtra. Schools does not have separate libraries and hence children do not have access to read non-academics books which they really like to read. Books published by Pratham Books are more engaging and colorful books which instills a love of reading and help to improves reading skills.
Our work and its impact
Thinksharp Foundation is a non-profit organization stared in 2011 with a vision “To bridge the Rural-Urban education divide”. Our Mission is "To improve the quality of rural education in schools and after schools hours by providing access to better educational infrastructure includes digital tools, library, games, financial support and creating progressive and positive learning environment by working with the village community, teachers, government and other stakeholders".
How we will utilise these books
We work with rural schools in Maharashtra through our project "StudyMall" to improve quality of education by enabling and empowering children & teachers with digital learning tools, library, games and other educational resources. Till date we are working in 30 rural schools located in various districts, benefited to more than 5000 children and 100 + teachers. Thinksharp Foundation aims to set up more 10 libraries in 10 different rural schools in Marathwada region by end of April 2019, so that in next academic year children can use library on daily basis. This will benefit to more than 1100 children by the way of giving access to read non-academic books.
