Who we are
Mind and Matter is a Kodagu-based non-profit organisation. We work with the District Child Protection Unit in Kodagu and Mysuru districts in Karnataka and have collaborated with Youth for Seva, the Department of Psychiatric Social Work, NIMHANS, lawyers and students to introduce the children we work with to as many fields of knowledge as possible.
Our work and its impact
We seek to build a harmonious and self-aware society through our projects. We work with underprivileged children living in government shelter homes alongside running mental health awareness campaigns and book donation drives.
How we will utilise these books
The funds from our campaign will be used to get joyful storybooks from Pratham Books to add to the existing libraries in the children's homes in Madikeri, Karnataka. This is our third campaign with Pratham Books. We regularly conduct reading sessions for our children and we have seen first-hand the wonderful impact that these books have on the children. They are reading more and engaging with the books on their own even without the support of our reading facilitators.
