Who we are
Let's Ignite The Spark (LITS) Foundation is driven by the belief that every child deserves the right to read. Our mission is to ensure that no child is deprived of books, and if they lack access to a library, we'll bring the library to their doorstep. In alignment with the vision of Pratham Books - a book in every child's hand, LITS Foundation strives to establish free community libraries and empower children through various programs.
Our work and its impact
Every contribution matters. Every small effort we make undoubtedly accumulates to create a significant impact. Recognizing the essential rights to education and reading, the LITS Foundation is steadfast in its belief that no child should be denied access to these fundamental privileges. Our primary goal is to establish community libraries that serve as hubs for learning and exploration.
These community libraries are entirely cost-free, offering more than just books. Various activities like arts & crafts, drama, storytelling, and more enhances the overall experience, making these spaces truly enriching.
LITS Foundation aspires to be a constant presence in every child's formative years, aiming to leave an indelible mark that will be remembered with joy as they grow older.
How we will utilise these books

The funds raised will be utilised to set up two pop-up libraries in Basti using storybooks from Pratham Books. These libraries will host weekly programs, including read-aloud sessions and storytelling, engaging children in a world of imagination and knowledge.
Additionally, the books will be used to create a library in an NGO school. Teachers will undergo training to conduct read-aloud sessions and various library-related programs, fostering a love for reading and learning among the children.
