Who we are
Gift a Library is an initiative of the Kutchina Foundation to bridge the gap between those who do not have access to storybooks and those who want to share storybooks. It was set up by Nita Bajoria, a member of the foundation and a book lover, to promote the habit of reading among children and at the same time, share good quality storybooks with those who do not have access to them.
Our work and its impact
Our work involves setting up new libraries and renovating existing libraries to expand their book collection. We have set up libraries in Kolkata, Mumbai, and Bihar. This year, our goal is to set up 25 libraries for children. We want to help them develop a regular reading habit to improve their vocabulary and communication and linguistic skills.
How we will utilise these books
The funds from this campaign will be used to get delightful and multilingual STEM storybooks from Pratham Books for the various libraries we help set up. We will filter the books according to reading levels and language needs and distribute them among the libraries.
