Our work and its impact

For over 10 years KidPower India has been running the Manasu home which provides care and support to orphan girls and children who come from abusive family backgrounds. The home provides many facilities like a safe place to stay, education, vocational training etc. The centre believes home care is the best care and tries to reintegrate a sense of family and belonging into the child. However, in cases where children are unable to adapt because of vulnerable or abusive situations at home or the absence of caretakers, the home provides education and vocational training support. We also run five bridge schools in the slums in Visakhapatnam with the support of CCI and Wipro. The bridge schools are very important interventions to prevent child labour in the slums and ensure that the children go to school.
