Who we are
Ekalvya - Gaava Tithe Granthalya is going to start 20 mini-libraries for rural children of Aurangabad, Solapur, and Washim. These libraries will be started in schools that do not have much support from the government. These libraries will be stocked with 500 books across Marathi, English, and Hindi languages.
Our work and its impact
Ekalvya - Gaava Tithe Granthalya was a project which had participated in Transform Maharashtra Competition in 2016-17. In which we were talking about improving the educational level in rural Maharashtra by establishing libraries. In that competition, we secured the 6th position. We then mobilised our teams and began work at grassroots level. We are now working in Pune and Mumbai where we have started 20 libraries in the rural area of Kalyan, Titwala, Murbad, and Latur.
How we will utilise these books
Ekalvya - Gaava Tithe Granthalya aims at improving the education level in the rural area of Maharashtra by setting up libraries. This library will be used to inculcate and enhance reading habits among children who have no access to joyful reading material due to a lack of resources. Creating these 20 libraries in Aurangabad, Solapur and Washim will impact over 1000 children. Ekalvya - Gaava Tithe Granthalya aims to start this 10 libraries by the month of February 2020. The collected funds will be used to procure Marathi, English, and Hindi books for libraries.
