Who we are
Helen Keller once said , “Alone we can do so little but together we can do so much.” with this thought we came up with an idea of why start a campaign only for single school why not for entire cluster comprising 21 schools altogether.
Our work and its impact
We are a team of Mukhya Shikshak (Head Masters) of 21 government schools in Pipodara cluster of Surat district. Most of our schools have celebrated their centenary. How we will utilise these books
Our schools have a long history well before our independence. Thousands of students have got their basic primary education from these schools and still getting. They have taken up diverse career choices and gave their contribution to our society and help to build our nation. Our aim is to have plenty of child friendly books in all the school's library starting with upcoming academic year i.e to have 1 : 2 books ratio per child, For each Primary school will have atleast 1 Library-in-a-classroom set and for Upper primary school will have atleast 2 Library-in-a-classroom set. Books have power to magnify the child’s imagination he/she can build up the world he/she is reading about on his/her own. In order to inculcate reading habit from a young age Pratham's books are unique since they not only attract children but also gave them good memories. Also children not only read from them, they play, draw, write from these books.
