Who we are
EDNEW Foundation want to set-up resource centres in five blocks of Nuh district, where any child can come and read books during the school hours and post that. We want to build a culture of story telling in the heart of these young school going girls. We will select one girl champion from each 5 blocks, who will take care of these resource centres.
Our work and its impact
EDNEW Foundation is an initiative by young entrepreneurs, who has worked in the education sector for the last 14 years specifically for K-12 Schools in rural areas.
How we will utilise these books
EDNEW Foundation is working in the inner parts of District Nuh, Haryana to uplift and educate girls, whose literacy rate is not more than 60%. These girls have high aspirations, some wants to be a storyteller or doctor or teacher. They don't have an access to story books because the nearest bookseller is 90 kms from their district. EDNEW Foundation wants to that book provider and will train these girls to be storyteller. An educated girl will create an educated family. EDNEW Foundation aims to set up 5 resource centre in each tehsil of district Nuh and each centre will have 200 books, 50 each of 4 levels. Champion Girl from each of 5 Mewat Model School will be selected and she will be the coordinator for that centre, whole sole responsible for running the centre with these 1000 books. This way these girls will have an access to quality books and they will learn other life skills.
