Who we are
Wachan Sanskar Kendra is a reading and writing centre in Parbhani, Maharashtra. We conduct weekly reading and writing sessions for children in villages to promote literacy. Through these sessions we inculcate reading habits in children and create interest around reading.
Our work and its impact
We organise reading and writing campaigns called Akshar Anand in our centres. To increase their interest in academics and encourage them to visit the centres, we organise games and recreational activities. We give them colourful storybooks and encourage critical thinking skills by asking them to share their thoughts and feedback on the storybooks.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from this campaign will be used to procure multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books. We will distribute the storybooks among our centres and to local schools as well. Our aim is to make sure that every child gets direct access to age-appropriate storybooks and learns how to think independently.
