How we will utilise these books

CInI's focussed education program under the Mission 2020 aims at enhancing the learning levels of students along with overall development, as a critical aspect towards improving the overall quality of life of tribal communities. The program is closely linked to the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009. It is being directly implemented by CInI, covering more than 300 schools with about 35,000 students. The plan is to work with around 70,000 children across 470 schools. The library development work in Khunti (Jharkhand) has been undertaken as a part of the program since 2015 with the aim of inculcating a reading habit from an early age. Along with this, improved and innovative teaching methods and tools such as print rich environment and access to resources for triggering imagination and quick grasp of concepts are also being focussed on. All programs are being implemented in close coordination with the community members through the School Management Committees to ensure their involvement, ownership and sustainability. CInI's larger goal in 2019 is to set up functional and vibrant libraries in all the schools of Khunti district. The funds to be received through this campaign will be utilised to purchase Hindi, English and Bilingual books for setting up libraries in 100 schools. A vibrant environment will be built in the school libraries and book-based activities would be conducted to enhance their language skills, introduce them to reading culture and boost their confidence.
