Who we are
I am an IT professional trying to provide basic facilities to rural government schools with the support of friends and well-wishers. My goal is to set up libraries for children to discover the joy of reading and encourage teachers to help the kids grow into independent readers.
Our work and its impact
So far, we have equipped over 10 rural schools with 220 school benches, five digital classrooms, 1000 school bags, shoes, dictionaries, and stationery items. We also conducted training programmes for students preparing for the NMMS (National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship) exam. Established 6 libraries in rural villages of Telangana.
How we will utilise these books
The funds from this campaign will be used to set up libraries for kids in five schools in Peddapally. Each school has between 40 to 100 students and the multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books will not only help the students build their cognitive and language skills, the STEM books will also help the teachers make the classroom experience more interactive for the children. I will visit the schools regularly to observe how the storybooks are being utilised.
With the books raised during the previous campaign on Donate-a-Book, we established 6 libraries. The kids loved the books and enjoy reading them. We are now planning to add more titles at higher reading levels for the children through this campaign.
