Who we are
Anandashram is a socio-cultural organisation that has been working for the betterment of society since 2008. We are starting an initiative to improve the literacy of underprivileged children in rural Uttar Pradesh. Our goal is to help the children discover the joy of reading and inculcate a reading habit so they can grow into better learners.
Our work and its impact
We believe that physical access to good-quality literature is key to improving literacy in children. Libraries play an important role in providing safe spaces for children to explore and learn. A library is a place where a child is free to access new information from various resources and expand their wealth of knowledge.
How we will utilise these books
Pratham Books’ storybooks contain colourful illustrations that provide a creative and artistic learning environment to which children respond. The funds from our campaign will be used to get delightful children’s storybooks in English and mother tongue languages for underprivileged children in rural Uttar Pradesh. The books will help them develop reading and writing skills, and develop emotionally and intellectually.
