How we will utilise these books

This crowdfunding campaign will help in filling 2,581 Gram Panchayat libraries across 11 districts of Karnataka - Udupi, Belagavi, Chamarajanagar, Chitradurga, Dakshina Kannada, Gadag, Hassan, Haveri, Kolar, Shivamogga and Uttara Kannada - with storybooks from Pratham Books in Kannada and other languages. Pratham Books even offers Braille books for the visually impaired.

This initiative will directly impact over 26 lakh children across the state of Karnataka, who have been out of school for the better part of the last two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic and widespread school closures. Storybooks have the unique ability to provide children with windows to new worlds and different ideas, enabling them to continue their learning journey while at home.
