Who we are
eVidyaloka is a non-profit organization that provides quality education to children in underserved rural government schools across India through a technology-enabled volunteer teaching model. We connect passionate volunteer teachers from across the country and the world with rural classrooms, enabling live, interactive learning in students' regional languages. While our volunteer-led digital classrooms help bridge learning gaps, many children still have little or no access to storybooks, reference books, and age-appropriate reading material.
Through this fundraiser, we aim to create and strengthen reading corners and libraries in our partner government schools, enabling children to develop reading habits, improve language skills, expand their imagination, and build confidence. Every book donated can become a gateway to new ideas, opportunities, and aspirations for a child who may otherwise never have access to one.
Our work and its impact
Our programs cover foundational subjects such as Mathematics and Science, along with future-ready skills including Spoken English, Digital Literacy, Artificial Intelligence awareness, and Career Guidance. We currently work with government schools across multiple states, reaching children who often face challenges such as teacher shortages, limited educational resources, and restricted access to technology.
By bridging the education gap between urban and rural India, eVidyaloka helps improve learning outcomes, increase student engagement, build confidence, and expand opportunities for higher education and employment. Our work empowers children from marginalized communities with the knowledge and skills needed to break the cycle of poverty and contribute meaningfully to society.
How we will utilise these books
The storybooks will be distributed to eVidyaloka's partner government schools in rural and underserved communities of Maharastra and Madhya Pradesh. They will be used to establish or strengthen classroom reading corners and school libraries, giving students access to age-appropriate storybooks, reference materials, and supplementary reading resources.
These books will support recreational reading, helping children improve their language skills, comprehension, vocabulary, creativity, and critical thinking. Teachers and volunteers will also integrate the books into reading activities and storytelling sessions to encourage regular reading habits.
By providing access to quality reading material, the initiative will foster a culture of reading among students who often have limited exposure to books beyond their textbooks.Your contribution will help bring the joy of reading to thousands of rural students and support their journey toward a brighter future. Because when a child receives a book, they receive a world of possibilities.
