Who we are

Since our school is located in the heart of Villivakkam in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, it has an impact on nearly 600 underprivileged who come from underprivileged communities. The shortage of educational resources limits their opportunities to realise their potential although our teachers mentor them and use a variety of teaching methods to help them.

Our work and its impact

We are guiding a large community that lacks basic financial literacy. The absence of core reading and numeracy skills, as well as a lack of long-term planning and awareness, are the biggest factors of financial instability. We're working as a team to push them out of their comfort zones so they can develop academically and holistically. Through the change in attitude among the students, we can influence the community as a whole to believe in their children's potential and look for opportunities outside of the classroom.

How we will utilise these books

Daan Utsav or, the Joy of Giving Week is celebrated every year in India from October 2nd to 8th and is India’s biggest festival of giving during which people from all over the country join hands to perform acts of kindness.

The storybooks crowdfunded from our Daan Utsav campaign will be used to set up classroom libraries in our school. Reading groups consisting of students studying in classes 2nd to 8th will use the storybooks. The books will be also used to teach supplementary texts for various high level objectives.
