Who we are

Teach for India is a not-for-profit organisation that works with the belief that one day all children will attain an excellent education. At TFI, we believe leadership for education is the solution. We are building a movement of leaders who will eliminate educational inequity in India by placing TFI fellows across the country in low-income schools and communities.

Our work and its impact

Holy Mother English School is located in Mumbai’s most densely populated slum, Malwani, and houses migrant and daily wage workers. Students come to school and then go to work. We at Holy Mother English School believe that every child has the right to education and we aim to be excellent educators to our kids every day. It is our firm stand that no child in the community shall be denied education, especially because of financial setbacks.

How we will utilise these books

This Daan Utsav, we want our students to start exploring the magical world of storybooks. Most of our students are first or second-generation learners and we envision a library filled with knowledge for them. We will use these storybooks to bridge the learning gap. Our goal is that every student should have access to reading novels, after which we will encourage them to become readers, storytellers, and writers.
During India’s biggest Festival of Giving, we are crowdfunding storybooks for 1200 children who will be impacted by this campaign.
