Who we are
असतो मा सद्गमय । तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय । मृत्योर्मा अमृतं गमय । From ignorance, lead me to truth; From darkness, lead me to light; From death, lead me to immortality We are a class of 300 kids across 6th, 7th and 8th grades in a government school in old Delhi area. We need Pratham books to increase our reading levels which Bhaiya says are very important to realize our full potential. These books will weave the magic in our lives, We hope!!
Our work and its impact
I am Narendra Shandilya, I am an Engineering graduate from NIT Trichy and a Postgraduate from IIT Delhi. I was working in Larsen & Tourbo as a Construction Manager and my interactions with workers made me slowly realize the importance of education and literacy. . Teach for India provided me that opportunity to understand the education landscape. These kids have huge potential; I hope to take care of them to the best of my ability.
How we will utilise these books
These kids are our future citizens. I am sure these little sparks will create that Indian dream wich we all want to see into reality. I work to impact these kids and enable them to make this country a better place to live in. These funds will be utilized to create a library in our school both in Hindi and English. looking at academic levels my kids need exposure to a variety of literature. I am hoping that this library will help them to achieve what they dream for themselves.
