As a passionate student dedicated to promoting educational causes and spreading the love of reading, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact that access to storybooks can have on young minds.

Shockingly, 53% of Indian children between 6 and 14 lack basic reading skills, and in the Delhi NCR, approximately 25% of the population resides in areas with limited access to quality education. During my volunteer work at a rural school in Gurugram city, I met a young girl named Aditi, whose eyes sparkled with curiosity and thirst for knowledge. However, the school lacked proper reading resources, leaving Aditi and her classmates yearning for the enchantment of books. Witnessing their eagerness to learn and grow, I realised the urgent need to provide them with the tools they deserve. So I decided to join Pratham Books as a volunteer intern and support their cause of spreading the joy for reading by making multilingual storybooks more accessible.
