Who we are
We are Gandhi Fellows working in 100 Government Primary Schools and villages of Kapkot Block in Bageshwar District of Uttarakhand. Understanding the importance of reading, we are working towards making these school libraries functional by supporting the Head Masters. We have observed the need of creative books to encourage a child towards reading and discovering & leading. Hence we need 3750 books in Hindi & English language to begin a journey towards active libraries in these schools. We need your support and contribution to gift every child a happy reading experience.
Our work and its impact
Eshan Gupta & Linita Rane are Gandhi Fellows. Their team is also working in 100 Government Primary Schools and villages of Kapkot Block in Bageshwar District of Uttarakhand. We are a group of young leaders, coming from different corners of India to participate in the development process of our nation. We come from various educational backgrounds on a single platform of Gandhi Fellowship to learn & grow into social entrepreneurs. With an encouragement to change 1 million lives we are spread across various states to create an impact in the schools, community, system and majorly ourselves.
How we will utilise these books
Gandhi Fellowship is a 2 year Residential Leadership Program launched in the year 2008, spread across various states in India. With a focus to bring an impact in the public system along with sustainable development in the schools and villages, Fellows live in the community, work with the school teachers, community members and educational officials. The goal is to achieve sustainable development in Students Learning Outcome, Principal Leadership & Community Transformation. Our goal is to achieve sustainable development in the schools & community through regular interventions and multiple initiatives. One among the major aspects that contribute to Student Learning Outcome is a functional library. We want to encourage reading by proving quality experience through creative books. So along with the School Head Masters and Community Leaders we are going to begin our initiative to change. The funds will be utilized to make the library functional by distributing 2500 books that comes in Hindi & English language. At the initial stage we will begin with 50 schools of Kapkot Block.
