Who we are
We are a class of 30 8th graders studying in a low-income under-resourced school in Hyderabad. We love to read but do not have money for purchasing books. In addition to English, we would like to develop our proficiency in Telugu. Our reading levels range from Grade 2 level to Grade 6 level. We know we can improve a lot if given a chance. We hope to build our own classroom library one day. Please help us become readers for life.
Our work and its impact
Deepak V is a Fellow at Teach For India. He is the class teacher of a Grade 8 classroom in a low-income, under-resourced school in Old City, Hyderabad. Prior to joining Teach For India, he pursued a masters degree in management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Ranchi.
How we will utilise these books
Deepak's aim in life is to create value to the society and work towards the greater good of humanity. He truly believes that children are capable of creating wonders if provided with opportunities and a nurturing environment. At Teach For India, he hopes to provide an excellent education to underprivileged children and help foster the future leaders of Incredible India. Deepak intends to set-up a fully-functioning classroom library, comprising of English and Telugu medium books, in an attempt to enhance reading levels, stimulate curiosity and broaden the imagination of his students.
