Who we are
Chiranootana Urban and Rural Development Society is an NGO in Ajjampura taluk in Chikmagalur district, Karnataka. We came together as a group of social workers in 2018 to contribute to the betterment of society in education, health, environment, women's and children’s welfare, and rural and urban development.
Our organisation is managed by individual donors and with the help of youth organisations like the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan. We have also collaborated with the departments of horticulture, agriculture, forest, local hospitals and gram panchayat, etc.
Our work and its impact
Our programmes involve organising evening classes for underprivileged students in our district. The evening classes help them improve in their academics and keep up with their peers. With a well-equipped library, we hope to give them better access to high-quality educational resources.
How we will utilise these books
The funds raised from our campaign will be used to fill the library with multilingual STEM books in English and Kannada from Pratham Books. The books are colourfully illustrated, age-appropriate, and break down complex scientific and mathematical concepts in a simple and engaging way that helps them understand the concepts better.
The library is for our evening school students as well as children studying in government schools and anganwadis. Through these books, children can expand their horizons and learn more about the world around them in a fun and meaningful way.
