Who we are
Project Educare believes in bridging the last mile, not with charity, but with Creative Education and Skills Development through innovative approaches of Design, Art, Stories, Photography, Theatre and Cinema to foster Creative Education and Sustainable Livelihoods. After completing Protsahan's 10 month long bridge course, 12-16 year old slum children who have never been to a traditional school are able to being admitted directly into the 4th or 5th grades of government schools in Delhi.
Our work and its impact
I have volunteered with Protsahan in the past and distributed toys to the children through Toybank. Through my experience working with Protsahan, I understand the importance the organization gives to education and primarily to play and reading. It is important to encourage children to read at an early age, and the only way to achieve that is to enable them with books to read. How we will utilise these books
The hallmark of Project Educare is the fact that it assimilates and includes all backgrounds of disadvantaged society under one umbrella. This includes slum kids, street children, sexually abused minors, drug abusing kids and many more whose lives cross our path. Given the backgrounds of the children, it is imperative for one to understand that not all of them are regulars at local schools or even know the alphabet. Protsahan approaches them through individualized styles of learning, most of which involves depiction and storytelling with colours and technological interfaces. With the available funds Protsahan will be able to encourage early learning amongst the little girls and enable the parents and families, who are otherwise not equipped or exposed to the creativity and imagination that books can bring.
