Who we are
Mind and Matter, an organization based out of Kodagu, actively works with the Kodagu and Mysore District Child Protection Units and the children's homes that come under it. The organization conducts sessions on various topics such as Aircraft dynamics, Aeromodelling, Nature Journalling, Law and rights, sensitivity towards animals, sex education and more. The organization collaborates with other organizations as well as individuals to bring these sessions for the children.
Our work and its impact
Our goal is to encourage the holistic development of the children by giving them access to better learning infrastructure through book donations. We invite experts from various fields to conduct sessions in the children's homes on topics ranging from astronomy, climate change, life and importance of fungus, biodiversity to mind and emotions, cyanotype photography, nature journalling, readalouds and more.
How we will utilise these books
We are collaborating with the Mysuru District Protection Unit and the children’s homes that come under it as part of our latest project. The funds from this campaign will be used to get multilingual storybooks from Pratham Books for libraries in the children’s homes. The libraries will serve as joyful and safe reading spaces in the children’s homes and the storybooks will broaden the children’s horizons and become windows to new worlds. Help us achieve enough book donations to children’s homes in Kodagu and Mysuru to educate children by contributing to this fund.
Daan Utsav or the Joy of Giving Week is celebrated every year in India from October 2nd to 8th and we are hoping this opportunity will help us achieve our goal and provide books to these children.
