I am Atreyee, a Teach For India educator teaching 80 plus kids of grade 7th and 8th. Many of my students come from homes where books are a luxury. Yet, I have seen firsthand the magic that unfolds when a child discovers the right book—a book that sparks imagination, builds confidence and opens doors to new possibilities.

I remember one of my student Ananya (name changed for privacy), who struggled with reading. She hesitated, stumbled and often gave up. Then one day, she picked up a storybook. Weeks later, she was not only reading fluently but also told me how she wanted to become a writer. For her, reading wasn’t just about learning—it was about believing in a future where she could be anything.

As a feminist and a literature enthusiast, reading had shaped my voice, my dreams, my worldview. Now, I want my students—especially young girls—to experience the same transformation.

I believe every child deserves a quality education and the chance to fall in love with reading. Your donation will help build a library filled with engaging children’s books from Pratham Books, giving these students access to stories that inspire and empower them.
