Who we are
Aagamya Foundation is a non-profit organisation based in Kubernagar, Ahmedabad, committed to transforming education in low-income communities. Our vision is to foster communities where every child feels loved, respected, and encouraged to become the best version of themselves.
We focus on providing 21st-century skills through hands-on, activity-based learning, nurturing curiosity, confidence, and compassion in children. Our programs are designed to help students not just excel academically, but also develop critical thinking, creativity, and a sense of social responsibility.
At Aagamya, we believe that access to quality books and stories is a fundamental part of learning. Reading opens doors to imagination, knowledge, and opportunity, especially for children who may not have books at home. Through our school and community programs, we aim to create libraries and distribute storybooks that engage children, cultivate a love for reading, and broaden their worldviews.
Our work and its impact
At Aagamya Foundation, we work to transform education for children in low-income communities in Ahmedabad. Our programs focus on holistic learning — combining foundational academics with life skills, creativity, and social-emotional development. Through activity-based and play-based methods, we create classrooms where children feel valued, curious, and confident to explore new ideas.
A key part of our work is fostering a love for reading and providing access to storybooks and learning materials that children often do not have at home. By introducing books, storytelling, and libraries, we help children improve literacy, expand their imagination, and develop critical thinking skills.
The impact of our work extends beyond classrooms. Children become more confident, compassionate, and aware of the world around them. Families and communities benefit as children carry their learning home, inspiring peers and siblings. By empowering children with knowledge, curiosity, and confidence, we are nurturing a generation of socially conscious individuals who can contribute positively to society and become changemakers in their own right.
How we will utilise these books
The books will be used to build classroom and community libraries at Aagamya Foundation, giving children regular access to age-appropriate storybooks and learning materials. They will be integrated into our daily lessons, reading sessions, and activity-based learning programmes, encouraging children to explore, imagine, and develop strong reading habits.
Each child will have the opportunity to borrow books, read with peers and teachers, and engage in storytelling activities that reinforce comprehension, creativity, and critical thinking. The books will also be used during workshops and community reading events, enabling families to participate and fostering a culture of reading beyond the classroom.
